About Us
This Is Our Story
Brett and Bobbie Scudder were married in their home church, now Engrafted Word Church in Cookeville, TN in 1999. For 17 years, they served in almost every area of ministry, including Eldership, leading the Youth Ministry, serving on the Worship Team, teaching Sunday School, and overseeing the church’s evangelism activities. On a mission trip to Honduras in 2010, the LORD spoke clearly to Pastor Brett that his ministry assignment included teaching and discipling other nations. Through a supernatural vision, the LORD showed him flags of various countries, affirming his calling to reach the world. This was confirmed in a Word of Wisdom through their pastor, the Holy Spirit saying “as a bona fide fisher of men, you will have to cast a far net.”
By August of 2012, the Scudder family (Brett, Bobbie, Emma and Ethan) had moved to Kampala, Uganda, being sent out by Pastor Chris McMichael and the leadership of the church. Their initial assignment was with a college/campus ministry in Kampala doing evangelism and campus outreaches, teaching discipleship, servanthood and leadership classes each week, as well as holding weekly youth services on Friday evenings. Not only was this excellent training ground for new missionaries, but they were honored to help their close friends, Matt and Angela Catinella, in their work to impact the youth of Uganda (LivingWaterMin.org).
Pastor Brett also ministers three times a week on one of the most popular Christian radio stations, teaching sound doctrine and providing a voice of clarity to Kampala’s believers.
In addition to our pastoral & spiritual covering (Pastor Chris McMichael, EngraftedWord.org), we maintain connections with a broader network of ministers for fellowship, accountability, and support.
